“The straight line belongs to men, the curved one to God.”
- Antoni Gaudi

I’ve always been fascinated by symbolism and of beauty in simplicity. In creating a light piece that would be symbolic of how I view life and of my trajectory, I tapped into the inspirations of my favorite architects, Antoni Gaudi and Frank Gehry.

I ideated with paper and pencil, as well as copper sheets, as I love playing around with tangible material.

The creation of this piece in and of itself was a performance, as it took some nuanced choreography getting the bends, the flow, and the balance “just right”. It was a beautiful process and from this dance between the material and myself the curves and lines for this piece was organically created.
